A Note from Michelle O'Neal, Lapeer GOP Chair

Hello Republicans!

Don't forget that Tuesday night is our "Get to Know Your Candidate Forum" at 7:00 pm at the Metamora Lions Hall.  This is sure to be a great event for the community.  All are welcome. Please join us.

Supreme Court Justice Robert Young's fundraiser is on July 22nd at the Huntsman Club in Dryden, MI.  Call 810-287-4583 for more information.  This is a supreme court seat that Michigan NEEDS to keep.  Liberalism has crept in to this court which was once known to be the most conservative in the country.

Candidate for Governor Mike Bouchard will be at Louie's Sports Tavern at the Polar Palace on Davison Rd. in Lapeer for a Lapeer  area "Meet and Greet" on July 27th from 12:30 to 2:00 pm.  All are welcome.

Our State Representative Kevin Daley is holding a fundraiser on July 29, at Stonegate Farm at 2681 Hadley Rd., in Lapeer from 6-8 pm. Call 664-0117 for more details and to RSVP.

Just an update on our picnic and SOFTBALL GAME that took place on Sunday.  10TH DISTRICT WON AGAIN!  Thanks to all of you who turned out to play and those who came to enjoy themselves at the picnic and watch.  I know I'm bias, but I was particularly impressed with my own son who made some huge plays in the outfield!  Linda who caught for us brought her son and his friend and we were happy to have them too!  Everyone played great including Mitch Lyons and his wife Angela, (Candidate for MSU Board of Trustees.)

At the picnic, we heard from Candidate for Governor Tom George, Secretary of State Candidates Paul Scott and Ruth Johnson's Representative.  Senator Cameron Brown's wife left us a nice message to wish us good luck with the event, but they were unable to attend as Cameron was not feeling well.  (Hope I got everyone.)

Randy St. Laurent as usual helps make it a great event, (and he scored a couple runs) and Norm Valli works very hard to plan and pull it all together.  It was nice to see all who attended and network with surrounding districts and counties!  Hope to see even more next year! ( We plan to win again then, too)

Over this past weekend we set up a booth at Columbiaville Days and pulled our float in the parade which was great fun!  State Representative Kevin Daley and his wife Debbie walked with us as well as other candidates and volunteers...County Road Commissioner Joe Suma  and his volunteers and Alan Van Brocklin, Janice and Paul Herberger and more.  My daughter, Caitlyn  and her friend Audrey rode in the back of the truck throwing candy as well and did a wonderful job!

Also in the parade with floats were State Senate Candidates, Todd Courser, Lauren Hager and Phil Pavlov with some pretty neat floats. Road Commission Candidate John Quail was there with his signs on his car in the parade as well.

Extra special thanks goes out to Vice-Chairman Greg Harper, Gayle St. Laurent, 10th district Chairman Randy St. Laurent, Alan Van Brocklin, Joe Suma and the Herberger's for your time and volunteer efforts to help make this event a success. I hope I did not miss anyone. Some worked at the booth with us, some set up, some tore down and as hard as it can be, it is always easier with volunteers!
THANK YOU!

Remember we will be pulling our float in the Blueberry Festival Parade on August 7th.  All candidates are welcome to walk with us and anyone who would like to volunteer and help with candy.  These events are important, and candidates, this is a good opportunity to get your names out there.  Precinct Delegates, and especially executive committee, your help with the booths to follow will be necessary.  We will have a booth at the Easten Michigan Fair, Lapeer Days and at the Woods and Water Event.  See the web to sign up at Lapeergop.org

Volunteers are so important.  Sadly our Highway pick-up had to be canceled due to lack of volunteers.  Let's regroup, Republicans and work towards our mission of electing good Republicans to office.  Lets keep our name out there, help candidates and continue to do good things in our community!  It can really be fun and you make a difference with any amount you contribute.

All right...there are only 15 days until the primary and in only three months after that we will want to have had all of our REPUBLICAN ELECTING resources implemented for maximum results in our county!  Good luck to all Candidates, and thanks to those who support the Lapeer County Republican Party.

We meet every third Thursday of the month at Lapeer City Hall.

Thank you everyone,  for all you do!

Kind Regards,
Michelle O'Neal
